Sister Madonna Buder, aka the "Iron Nun" became the oldest person to ever finish the IRONMAN Triathlon at 82 years of age, breaking records and barriers in the process. Thanks to her humble refusal to conform to ageism in physical competitions, she's personally opened 5 age groups in her lifetime that did not exist before.
She was recently featured in an ad for Nike. When asked why they chose Sister Madonna as their feature, Nike responded that is was "because she's an athlete who refuses to conform to the conventional ideas of age", and for her stamina and resilience.
